Diploma in Sporting Excellence

Marathon Sports Foundation - Diploma in Sporting Excellence (DISE) framework has been designed to meet the needs of young people (aged 16-19)

"who have the realistic potential to achieve excellence in their sport and are seeking to perform at the

highest level as their main career goal".

From 2021 we will also be providing a range of online courses!

"The DISE programme helped me to develop my knowledge about lifestyle and nutrition to help me achieve what I have today.  It was also incredibly enjoyable and sociable - I met many athletes from various other disciplines and learned about how they prepare both mentally and physically, furthering my knowledge".
  • The purpose of the DISE is to provide a pathway for the development of elite young athletes across England in their chosen sport.

  • The DISE provides a structured training and development route, across a number of sports, for elite young athletes, who may go on to represent their country on the Olympic stage or gain professional contracts.

  • The DISE scheme can take up to a maximum of two years to complete.

  • The DISE scheme fully reflects the range of skills, knowledge and performance criteria required in elite sport.  It is not a qualification for simply "playing the game".

  • The DISE is designed to directly measure the athlete's ability to apply themselves to "professional" development in their sport.
